Dez Skinn



Dez Skinn (sometimes referred to as “the British Stan Lee”) is highly regarded as one of the most influential figures in British comic and magazine publishing. Beginning his career with kids` comics Whizzer & Chips, Cor!! and Buster, Dez moved onto editing the UK edition of MAD Magazine, relaunched the infamous Monster Mag poster magazine and created the iconic and award-winning House of Hammer.

In 1978 Skinn independently launched the world's longest running sci-fi movie magazine Starburst and then took over the running of Marvel UK, reporting directly to Stan Lee himself. During this time he revamped Star Wars Weekly, Spider-Man and Savage Sword of Conan as well launching multiple new titles including Hulk Weekly, the Marvel pocket books line and the world’s longest-lasting TV tie-in magazine, Doctor Who Weekly, for which he won a Guinness World Record

Dez also instigated the creation of the dystopian V for Vendetta, published comics trade magazine Comics International, writes a regular column for Comic Heroes magazine and is currently involved in more publishing projects and film production.
